In our first article, we focused on the Holy Father's call to walk through the door of faith through study, which he called "content," and through our response to God's grace, which he called "act." In this article, we want to look at one specific way that we can make this Year of Faith a time when our faith grows stronger and brings us into an even deeper relationship with the Lord.

According to Pope Benedict’s apos­tolic letter Porta Fidei, this year will be fruitful as we “believe in him whom he has sent,” (Porta Fidei, 3) and as we seek to “proclaim his Gospel to all the peoples of the earth” (7). This involves both laboring for the “food which endures to eternal life” (3) and making ourselves available to those who are “sincerely searching for the ultimate meaning and definitive truth of their lives” (10).

Rather than list a number of ways that we might deepen our faith or share the good news, we want to look at the kind of disposition that will help us both grow in our faith and give that faith away to the peo­ple around us.
