How to come to a clearer-and more positive- image of God.

First impressions mean a lot. Think, for instance, about how easy it is, after meeting a person for the first time, to draw any number of conclusions about that person. In many cases, these first impressions stick and can be very hard to change.

And while we all welcome the good images, we would also love to erase the negative labels that have been unfairly tagged to our names.

If first impressions concerning people we have met can be so powerful, imagine how much more influential they can be when they have to do with God, whom we have never seen! And what’s worse, these impressions often contain negative—or at least incomplete—images which don’t do justice to who God really is. How encouraging, then, to know that God wants us to know him. He wants to reveal himself to us and to shatter any negative images we may have of him. So as you read this article, take the time to pray and ask the Holy Spirit to open the eyes of your heart.
