Take a moment right now to think about God's work of creation. Look at the sky on a bright and clear day. Isn't it beautiful? How about those flowers putting on a dazzling performance in the florist shop? The colors are so rich and perfect—no artist could possibly duplicate their beauty. Think of a deep, placid lake in the mountains: Is there anything more beautiful than its gleaming water as smooth as a mirror reflecting the beauty all around it?

Finally, place yourself in front of a mirror and ponder the crown of God’s creation. How marvelous we are! Isn’t it amazing how intricately our minds work? Isn’t it astounding that our bodies are fashioned to such detail?

Some might argue that creation simply happened, that it is nothing more than a random occurrence. But something inside of all of us tells us that this amazing world has a far greater story to it. Somehow, we sense the hand of an unseen God behind all the beauty.

St. Paul once wrote: “Ever since the creation of the world God’s eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made” (Romans 1:20). For Paul, the whole idea wasn’t just a “sense.” It was logical. There must be a God behind…
