It really is an adventure trying to live the Christian life in this world, isn't it? On one hand, we get to enjoy all of the blessings that the world has to offer—the beauty of nature, the excitement of developing our talents, even the enjoyment of delicious foods.

But at the same time, we have to be careful that we are not embracing some of the philosophies that are in this world. For instance, while we should take pride in our worldly accomplishments, we need to be on guard so that we don’t find our true dignity or worth from what we can do.

It’s a bit of a balancing act, being in the world but not of the world, and that challenge comes to mind when we look at the call of the gospel to live by faith. For there are many misconceptions about faith in the world, and it’s not hard for them to find their way into our thoughts.
