How can we experience the risen Lord today?

The Gospel of John has given us some of the most memorable stories about Jesus’ resurrection—especially about how his rising from the dead affected the people closest to him.

Just think about the way John tells the story: On Easter Sunday, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and found it empty. She then ran to tell Peter and John, who themselves ran to the tomb. Then, while Mary lingered, John and Peter went back home. Jesus then appeared to Mary and called her by name. Next, he appeared to his apostles. And finally, he appeared to Thomas (John 20:1-29).

If we were to take a closer look at these events, we might be able to discover some exciting and inspiring patterns of faith that just may help us “come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God” (John 20:31).
