Vital Signs of the New Life

The following chart is given as an overview of the six "vital signs" that we will be exploring this month and next. As you read the articles associated with each vital sign, take a look also at the Scripture passages listed here for further explanation and to help you pray about them. Next month, we will emphasize the last three signs in another chart, again to supplement study and understanding.

1. To repent of our sins (Matthew 3:1-3)

a. Admit wrongdoing and seek reconciliation (Luke 18:9-14; Matthew 5:23-24).

b. Pray for deliverance (Matthew 6:13; Psalm 121).

c. Pray that the Spirit will heal and change us (2 Corinthians 3:18; 2 Timothy 1:6-7).

d. Go and sin no more (John 5:14; 8:11; 1 Corinthians 15:34).

e. Seek peace with everyone (Romans 12:18; Hebrews 12:14).

2. To commit our whole life to Jesus (Mark 8:34-37)

a. Worship the Lord and serve him only (Joshua 24:14-15; Luke 4:8).

b. Cross over from death to life (Ezekiel 37:13-14; John 5:24).

c. To be connected with Christ (Matthew 11:28-30; Psalm 63:6-8).

d. Be pure of heart in all we do (Matthew 5:8; 1 Thessalonians 3:12-13).

e. Be steadfast, enduring, and patient in our commitment (Hebrews 12:1-4; 1 Timothy 6:11-16).
