The Word Among Us Magazine

Welcome to The Word Among Us Partners, an outreach of The Word Among Us, Inc. We thank you for your interest in our ministry.

“The lay faithful. . . should feel called and encouraged to proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom. Jesus’ words: “You too, go into the vineyard” (Mt. 20:4), must be seen as addressed not only to the Apostles but to all who desire to be authentic disciples of the Lord.”
Pope John Paul II

Partners was established in 1989 to respond to the call of Jesus to “go into the vineyard”. Our goal is to provide spiritual materials for Catholics, who often find themselves in unfamiliar or difficult circumstances in which they are not able to receive support in their faith from the traditional parish structure.

In 1989 Partners began by ministering to Catholic men and women in prison in the U.S. and Canada. Partners currently reaches out to 45,000 prisoners.

In 2005 the ministry was expanded to include Catholic service men and women, particularly those deployed overseas.

Through the generous support of our “partner” donors, we provide free spiritual materials – in English and Spanish – to these groups, including The Word Among Us magazine, a daily devotional based on the Mass readings. This devotional provides a structure for daily prayer and Scripture reading. By making The Word Among Us available to Catholic prisoners and Catholic service men and women, our goal is to foster ongoing conversion, leading to a deeper relationship with Christ, a growing life of prayer and Scripture reading, and more active participation in the sacraments.

We invite you to partner with us in this great work of bringing Christ to Catholics who are away from the support of family and local church. Please consider making a donation today.
