Advent is a wonderful time of the year. It's a time of baking, gift making, buying, and wrapping. It's a time of expectant waiting, anticipating, and spiritually preparing for the coming of Christ Jesus.

Light two purple candles this week.

Opening prayer: All make the sign of the cross and say: “May we keep the Lord’s words in our hearts and minds.”

Closing prayer: “Father, give us strength for doing good, so we can prepare the way for Jesus.”

Response: “Jesus is coming! Prepare the way for the Lord!”

Or Sing: O Come, thou wisdom from on high, Who orders all things mightily,

To us the path of knowledge show, And teach us in her ways to go.

Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel.

End with an “Our Father.”
