Advent is a wonderful time of the year. It’s a time of baking, gift making, buying, and wrapping. It’s a time of expectant waiting, anticipating, and spiritually preparing for the coming of Christ Jesus.
Light two purple candles and one pink or white candle this week.
Daily opening prayer: All make the sign of the cross and say: “May we keep the Lord’s words in our hearts and minds.”
Closing prayer: “Father, give us new zeal to love others. Let us rejoice as we eagerly await the coming of Jesus.”
Response: “Rejoice! Jesus is coming soon! Let us love with new zeal as we eagerly wait for him.”
Or Sing: O come, O come, thou Lord of Might,
Who to the tribes on Sinai’s height
In ancient times did give the law,
In power, majesty and awe.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
End with an “Our Father.”
