Sometimes, the first day of school feels more like New Year’s Day than the first of January does. Classes are back in session, fall sports, religious ed, and other activities and meetings resume—a new year has begun! It seems like a logical time for making a “back to school” resolution.

To help you choose a good one, try thinking back to how you felt at the end of the last school year. Did you have any regrets about something you did or didn’t do? Probably most of us can remember thinking, “I sure wish I’d handled that better”, or, “I hope the next school year will be different.”

As this new season gets underway, why not seize a moment to reflect on what you’d like to improve this time around? If you need ideas, here are some of the resolutions that other parents have expressed, from their own experience. Make and follow through on even one, and you could very well be at the start of the best school year ever for you and your children!
