“What can you do?” It is the age-old challenge of the gospel. One family in Houston, Texas, took the challenge to heart and found a unique way to answer it.

Jim and Mary Margaret Boyles and their children have always enjoyed their visits with longtime friend Fr. Vince Thompson. He is a Basilian missionary working in a poor barrio, or neighborhood, near Bogotá, Colombia. One evening in 2004, as the friends shared a supper together, the table talk revolved around the blessings of the Boyles’ abundance and the plight of the poor in Colombia.

Jim is the founder of Artisan Field, a successful visual communications and marketing firm in Houston, Texas. His wife and their five children, now adults, all work for the family-owned and operated business.
