Family, football, and food: Thanksgiving is all of these things and more. It's also a perfect opportunity to think about gratitude.

And while this national holiday lasts only one day, it can remind us and our families about the importance of being grateful—for the Lord and for one another—all year long.

The first Thanksgiving in 1621 was a one-time celebration when the Pilgrims expressed thanks to God for sustaining and feeding them in the New World. Edward Winslow’s account, which he wrote in a letter dated December 12, 1621, noted that some of the crops were bountiful while others were scant. “And although it be not always so plentiful as it was at this time with us, yet by the goodness of God, we are so far from want that we often wish you partakers of our plenty.” These early settlers knew that God was ultimately their source of life.

    An attitude of gratitude will make your life easy.  No matter what happens their is a silver lining even if we do not see it right away.  It is God’s plan and as long as we are doing our best and loving one another we are fullfilling our part in his plan.
