Click here for more information regarding Amazon Reading Apps.

We are in the process of evaluating more options for Android based smartphones and tablets

  2. Why must I pay to receive full online access?

Historically, our printed edition subscribers have born the entire cost of our web site presence and most of them never visit our web site. With the launch of our new web site in 2008, we felt is was time to begin to offset a small portion of the cost of our web presence to those who only read our content online. Currently, a “Web Only” subscription costs only $1.00/month. This is less than the cost of a drink from a vending machine or the fuel to drive 5 to 10 miles in your car. We continue to offer “Today’s Meditation” and many articles from our current issue and our Resource center at no cost.

  3. What is Free Registration?

Free Registration allows users who are not current subscribers to add comments to any online article and set their local time zone to correctly display the current meditation. This service is free to anyone and can be activated by filling-out our online registration form. Commenting and setting the local time zone is also available to paid subscribers. Note: You must be logged in to add comments.

  4. If I don’t want to Register or Subscribe, what is available for me online?

Those who have not registered to add personal comments to articles AND do not have a current Web Only or Print Subscription) are able to view “Today’s Meditation” and selected articles from our Magazine Article Archive and our Resources Archive. We offer all of these services to everyone at no charge.

  5. How can I make changes to my Web Edition account or Free Registration information?

You can change your login Username, password, edit your profile information, add or change your screen name (appears next to your article comments), set your local time zone (will aid in seeing the correct meditation each day) by logging in and viewing your “My Account” page.

  8. What is “Word Among Us Partners”?

The Word Among Us Partners (formerly Partners in Evangelism) is a not-for-profit ministry of The Word Among Us distributing The Word Among Us, The Word Among Us Plus the Mass Readings Supplement, La Palabra Entre Nosotros and other devotional material at no cost to military and prison chaplains for distribution throughout North America and around the world. Donations to the The Word Among Us Partners are tax deductible according to the regulations of the Internal Revenue Service. For more information, visit us online at waupartners.org.

  9. Why can’t I find a Bible chapter or verse cited in The Word Among Us?

Most likely it’s because you are using some edition of the Bible other than the New American Bible (NAB). All citations used in The Word Among Us are from the NAB. The NAB is a Catholic Bible that includes 7 more Old Testament books than the Protestant Bible (Baruch, Sirach, Judith, 1 Maccabees, 2 Maccabees, Tobit and Wisdom), as well as some additional passages in other biblical books that aren’t in Protestant editions. Variations also exist in the numbering of some of the verses, particularly in the Psalms and the Book of Daniel.

  10. What version of the Bible does The Word Among Us Plus the Mass Readings Supplement use?

All chapter and verse citations are from the New American Bible (NAB). The texts quoted are also from the NAB, but more than one edition of the NAB is currently in circulation. That tends to create some confusion. The Word Among Us uses the NAB’s 1970 Old Testament translation, including the Psalms, and the 1986 New Testament translation. This is the same text as used in the Mass lectionary in the United States, but there are some exceptions.
