Every Lent, my neighbor takes his young children to a farm for a day of strawberry picking. This is not meant as a faith-building exercise. They just love picking fresh strawberries, and Lent just happens to coincide with strawberry season where we live. The children go from plant to plant, picking the fruit and placing it in their baskets. Then they go home and feast on strawberries for days and days.
