We Can Trust in God’s Goodness
Simeon was a “righteous and devout” man who had been waiting a long time to see “the Messiah of the Lord” (Luke 2:25, 26). We don’t know how long—it could have been many, many years. But in that time of waiting, Simeon never gave up believing that it would happen just as the Holy Spirit had promised him. And one day when he went into the Temple, he saw Mary and Joseph with the baby Jesus and knew immediately that this child was the One whom God had sent to save his people.
