Although it’s helpful to understand the history and background of the new Mass translation, all the information in the world still wouldn’t guarantee that we would get much more out of the Mass.
The real change comes as our hearts are engaged along with our minds. While the bishops have very good reasons for creating a new translation, they also know that it will make little difference if we are not lifting up our hearts to the Lord in worship, love, and gratitude.
So in this article, we want to take a look behind the words of the Mass to see the kind of disposition that will help us come into Jesus’ presence and receive his grace into our lives. But before we start talking about what we must do during the Mass, we should take a look at what Jesus does every time we gather to celebrate the Eucharist.
