My husband and I were married in August 2005, and soon after, we began trying to have a child. However, things didn’t go as we planned, and we were unable to conceive. That was an extremely difficult time for us as we tried to deal with all the heartbreak and other emotions that were swirling around us. I so badly wanted to share in the excitement that many of our family and friends felt as they became pregnant and began having babies. But each pregnancy announcement felt like a punch in the gut. It seemed that God had forgotten about us.
