On the morning of May 13, 1917, while the world was in the midst of World War I, Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta led their flock of sheep to a place called Cova da Iria, in Fatima, Portugal. The patch of land was less than a mile away from Aljustrel, the village where they lived.
The three little shepherds took their flock to graze at the Cova every day. That morning, while the sheep grazed, the kids played around...
