Manger scenes. You see them everywhere during the Advent and Christmas seasons. I’ve walked past countless such displays over the course of my life. But last year was different. I was at a daily Mass a couple of days after Christmas. I had received Communion and was walking past our parish’s Nativity scene on the way back to my pew. My thoughts were kind of distracted by some family concerns that were weighing on my heart.
But as I looked at the baby Jesus, his arms outstretched toward me, it hit me. This humble and vulnerable baby in the manger is the same...
